Frank Perniciaro grew up in New Orleans, La and has been involved in martial arts and fitness since he was a teenager. He has trained in Judo, Shotokan and Shorin-Ryu styles of Karate. He holds the rank of Black Belt and continues to actively train and develop his skills under the guidance and supervision of Joe Butrim, a eight degree black belt. He has taught karate in Metairie, La. for Crescent City Heath Club and in Palm Coast, Fl. for Life Martial Arts and Shinsei Martial Arts & Fitness.
Frank has a BBS from Tulane University and a Master in Project Management from George Washington University. During his service with BellSouth/AT&T he held several management positions of increasing responsibility until his retirement. In 2014 he decided to dedicated himself fully as a martial arts and self defense instructor.
On June 1, 2016, in order to fulfill his desire to teach the combined arts of Judo, Jujutsu and Karate he opened Core Martial Arts

Sam Rodriquez grew up in the South Bronx of New York. He began studying martial arts at an early age and achieved black belt status in1985 from the Kyudan Jiu Jitsu Federation under the guidance of Professor Ted West and Albert Dandrige, both Jiu Jitsu black belts. Subsequently, he joined the New York School of Jiu Jitsu and continued to advance his skills under the supervision of John Cohan, a well recognized martial arts instructor.
In 1984 Sam began his law enforcement career as a New York City Police Officer until 1990 at which time he moved to Jacksonville, FL. There, he joined the Jacksonville Sheriff Office as a Deputy Sheriff. He remained with JSO until 2015. He then joined the Florida 4th Judicial Circuit where he currently works as a State Attorney Investigator.
Sam resides in St. Augustine, FL where he continues to be very active in martial arts through his teaching at schools in St. Augustine and Palm Coast, Florida.
He has also for a number of years held adult self defense classes for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Community Affairs Divisions and has received significant recognition for his efforts as highlighted in numerous news articles in the Florida Times Union.
Sam oversees our Judo, Jujutsu and Self Defense programs.
